Local Climate Adaptive Living (LoCAL)

The Local Climate Adaptive Living Facility helps local government authorities in least-developed countries and other developing countries access the climate finance, capacity-building and technical support they need to respond and adapt to climate change.

LoCAL has engaged: 

  • 304 local governments

  • 11.5 million people

  • 16 countries

Another 13 countries have expressed interest in deploying LoCAL and design activities are underway. The potential reach is 600 million people.

At COP26, the LDC Group recognised LoCAL as a long-term initiative in support of LDCs' climate action objectives.

In this project, Green Growth Solutions conducted a feasibility study to assess various blended financial instruments for mobilizing private, public-private financing for adaptation projects in rural Mali, one of the selected countries for the project.
